It was an emotional night if you are an NDP supporter but none of the parties walked away getting exactly what they wanted. Listen in on our last election panel.

Many thanks to CBC and my co-panelists. It’s been great to do this weekly political panel with you.
CBC’s @browncbc.bsky.social had @shawnalewk.bsky.social , Mayor Joe Preston & I on for one last political panel. We talked: Unintended consequences, Vote collapse, Challenge of our time, Minority governments (at time of broadcast final seat counts were not in) and more! www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Thanks to @shawnalewk.bsky.social mentioning the Greens exclusion from the debates on the CBC political panel w/ @browncbc.bsky.social. Each election I/we are pressured to drop out & not split the vote. This is why I don't agree; our voices are silenced & democracy suffers. #cdnpoli #elxn45 #ldnont

Thx Carol. To expand, attending debates and being available to the media (not just on your terms) is being accountable to the people you want to represent. Avoiding either means your campaign is about you and your quest for power. Yes I’m talking about the Conservatives. #cdnpoli
Another great political panel on CBC #ldnont Morning w/ @browncbc.bsky.social. Favourite quote was by @shawnalewk.bsky.social - "an election is not about power, it's about policies & people." If a party can't be transparent during #elxn45, how can you expect it to be transparent governing? #cdnpoli

“Transport officials need a radically new framework for undrstndg the mobility needs of women + caregivers in our cities – and a good place to start is reimagining the "mobility hubs" where so many of their journeys begin,” says a new report. Feminist geographers have been studying this for decades!
Do Women and Caregivers Need More From The 'Mobility Hub'? — Streetsblog USA
It's one of the buzziest planning concepts around. So why is there so little research on how well "mobility hubs" work for women and caregivers?

If, for example, Trump says nobody is allowed to dance, on penalty of death, he has no legal power to make that declaration and no power to enforce it, but if everyone stops dancing it's as good as if he did. Reporting as though Trump has these powers helps give him those powers.

As an advocate I'm never surprised when horrible things happen. But I'm always shocked. That's why I keep fighting. If you lose the capacity to be shocked, you lose the ability to be human. Don't.
For anyone tempted to be smug and dismissive about people's outrage about Musk's Nazi salutes. Stop. Plenty of us who've followed him for years find it "shocking but not surprising." I refuse to stop feeling shock because that will mean I've become numb, but it should not be confused for naïveté.

Here is the article. I have an update that at the committee meeting today, City of London staff agreed to open the Gibbons Park washrooms year round, likely beginning early in the new year when staff are in place.

I was able to share some of my research on parks and access to good quality public toilets today on CBC London Morning. My research looks primarily at gendered access but I didn’t get a chance to talk about the impact on unhoused people, which is also gendered.
