Doug Ford like to talk tough on crime, except when it comes to lawbreaking motorists who illegally increase the risk of your kid being killed by a car.
Terrible idea from a terrible premier!
Speed cameras are among the best ways to make roads safer, especially around schools.
Time for the people, organizations, health care providers & politicians who want safer streets to step up and vocalize their opposition to this

Finished two great books this week. I know I'm a bit late with both of these but if you haven't already read them, "There There" by Tommy Orange and "Memorial Drive" by Natasha Trethewey are excellent reads. Highly recommend. #CanadaReads

Pleasure to join the discussion with @kellyelliottmcm.bsky.social and Mojdeh Azad on the @craigneedles.bsky.social Friday Roundtable podcast. We have a lot of work to do to combat the rising misogyny in our communities. The first step is acknowledging it. #ldnont www.podbean.com/ew/pb-ua84j-...

For whatever reason this vile and terrifying graffiti has barely made an appearance in local #ldnont news. Sharing here because we are experiencing a significant rise in #genderbasedviolence & #femicide in Ontario & Canada. This deserves attention & action.

Yesterday I had a chance to chat with @mattbrownldn.bsky.social about #heatdomes, #forestfires, #smoke and what #ldnont is doing to adapt to & mitigate #climatechange. We didn't plan it, but our conversation fell on a day when I woke up to extreme smoke levels due to the Port Alberni fire.

Same lake, 2 days apart. Woke up to intense #forestfire smoke at 4 am & raced to shut all the windows. It’s so bad going outside to take pictures was a challenge- lungs, eyes & throat burning. If you are affected, stay indoors & check on vulnerable friends/family. Thanks all firefighters! #BCFires
