Yet House Republicans just killed the first comprehensive (and bipartisan!!) housing package of the last few DECADES
More than 75% of homes across the U.S. are unaffordable, study finds
Homeownership can feel like a luxury when only a sliver of the country's housing market is affordable for most Americans, Bankrate analyst says.

Boy, North Carolina Republicans sure don't want the attached story to circulate. I sure hope that this stupid threat from their spokesperson doesn't boomerang on them and have a lot more people read and share the story, which once again, is conveniently attached below. That would be a shame.

Here's a gift link to the New York Times' coverage of the initial Tea Party rallies in April 2009 which inspired the media to treat it like a massive movement.

Check out how tiny the crowds were:

Philly: 200
DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000

@davidmuir-abc.bsky.social @kristenwelker.bsky.social @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social @nytimes.com @kaitlancollins.bsky.social embarrassing to call yourselves journalists - you should be outraged both as an American and a journalist. I won't tag CBS as Weiss has sent them over the cliff.
The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

SenatorWarnock just broke it down: health care is on the line.

A Chatham County family once paid $559/month for coverage—now it’s $2,100 after GOP subsidy cuts. Quadruple the cost just to stay insured.

Hey GOP: Bring back the House, cancel your health care cuts, reopen the government and release the files.

Trump's nonstop threats to arrest Dems are also about sleepwalking us into forgetting that free societies don't allow for arbitrary arrests of political opponents.

As @kristyparker.bsky.social says, we need to keep reminding ourselves that this isn't how it works:

Don’t fall for Trump’s lies about going after the “worst of the worst.”

This was never about legal immigration. It was always about cruelty.

For context, the Public Integrity Section (PIN) was the most prestigious section of the Criminal Division of Main Justice of DOJ and attorneys who worked there went on to become Attorneys General, U.S. Attorneys, and federal judges. No more. Examples include Eric Holder, Jack Smith, etc.
So, about that team of public integrity prosecutors who investigated Tom Homan, the guy who accepted a $50k bribe in a sting operation last year...

The Trump DOJ has cut it down to 2 lawyers: a boss who oversees a single attorney.

The Justice Department Had 36 Lawyers Fighting Corruption Full-Time. Under Trump, It’s Down to Two.
The Public Integrity Section is the latest casualty in the administration’s attacks on Nixon-era good-government reforms.
