And I, shall I not have pity for Nineveh the great city,
in which there are many more
than one hundred twenty thousand human beings
who do not know between their right hand and their left,
and many beasts? 🌱❤️‍🔥

I have a bunch of religious special interests, so if I followed you, that's probably why : )
I've been disturbingly full of mimetic desire lately. I keep desperately wanting things that are just transparently obvious mimics of desires I impute to people or characters I encounter that seem similar enough to me to be applicable.

I love Peter Pringle and his weird speculatively reconstructed Sumerian singing and his armada of instruments I've never heard of. Very cool as a pop musician to decide to pivot to the Epic of Gilgamesh and to be doing that at 80 years old. Truly he is The Pearl of Nova Scotia.

I think the status of "non-human" animals is probably the issue about which I am most aberrant in a Christian context. Not only do I have a high view of the dignity of "non-human" animals, I'm not even convinced they're essentially "non-human," which is a stance I basically never hear.

Today I was informed that no majesty or glory exists except as the power to love, forgive, and be faithful without any concern for who or what someone must be to deserve it. 🙂‍↕️

People always talk about baptizing aliens like it's something that hypothetically could or could not happen, as opposed to being something that has already happened numerous times.

Shortly after communing on Sunday I was introduced to "Soneto a Cristo crucificado," and since then it has been difficult to think of anything or have feelings about anything other than Christ being fully present in the poor and despised.

Everything we do must be against the death-world. Christ is the heart of all innocence, and weakness is innocence-in-Christ. Remember the poor, the sparrows, the wildflowers.

You're taking refuge in the Buddha? That's so cool! I've never seen anyone do that before. Oh and the Dharma too? Wow. And also—oh gosh I can't believe it——

zhuangzi chapter 1:
That night when Toad went to bed he thought the biggest thoughts that he could think. Toad thought about giant sunflowers. He thought about tall oak trees. He thought about high mountains covered with snow.

Reading people's writing, advising people on their writing, hearing people's voices, dialoguing aloud, exchanging text, language feels more and more like a numinous gift. I am again and again confronted by the recognition, "The jewel is the spider is the web."

It's so much easier to appreciate darkness and light under a candle than under overhead electric light.

(Sorry to sound reactionary; I don't mean this in absolute terms.)

Given their tuber-eating practices I think that naked mole rats may count as zontanophages on this system?

Christ is nowhere to be found if not in the marginalized, and Christians often do not find him there, which has meant that "Christianity" authentically refers to a strange combination of the Spirit of God and two thousand years of the most obscene and gut-wrenching Satanic abominations imaginable.

My favourite niche musician is my ThinkPad because he sings a little song to me when I make him execute sufficiently complex ffmpeg commands.

Whenever I feel upset I have taken to just muttering, "There is suffering..." and leaving it at that, with who is suffering or why being relatively unimportant details compared to the fact that there is, in general, suffering.

Given that it's entirely possible with AT Proto, I think Bluesky should give you the ability to quote post someone blocking someone else. I think this would have exclusively detrimental impacts on network culture.

I think the desire to be loving springs from being exposed, through one of many means but necessarily a means one can understand, to a standard of love which is worth being faithful to—and some people simply never get that, and I find it hard to blame them for not desiring what they do not know.

people on here will post anything. "Suffering is good if it happens to the right people." No it isn't. That isn't true.
