How do we fight this kind of thing? No party with a real chance at winning power has an interest in not sharing information with corporations.

Is it just me that really dislikes this messaging? It feels like it's saying that Islamophobia would be somehow more justifiable than racism.

"So this is another provincial decision that will increase homelessness in Toronto?" asks Councillor Dianne Saxe of Bill 60 and potential further funding cuts.

"Correct," says Housing Secretariat director Doug Rollins.

I *never* get to see it. My area is lit up like twilight all night. This strength, surely I'd see it— but no. Tonight's forecast is cloud and a bit of snow.

I swear. You people who can see it better post pictures!

Cool. I wonder if it's any less corrosive. We should do this for the birds-- but (and I hate that this is true) it'd be an easier sell in Ontario if it's less damaging to cars.

Twitter comments are weird. How fit must one be to drive a truck or pilot a drone?

The finale of the great TV comedy show Blackadder goes Forth.
Back then I didn't expect one of the funniest programmes ever to end with a scene that makes me cry every time I see it.
Every single time.

And this is a single AI company.
"In an internal memo from September, CEO Sam Altman said that OpenAI’s “audacious long-term goal is to build 250 gigawatts of capacity by 2033.” If Altman achieves this goal, OpenAI will need almost exactly as much electricity as India’s 1.5 billion people"

This is entirely the fault of Pierre Poilievre, conservatives and right wing nut jobs.
They managed to turn health and science into a political issue.
And sadly people were all to willing to be misled.
When did Canadians become so gullible and stupid?

Imagine the look on Democrats' faces when you tell them this exactly, 10 years ago. The climate collapse is here now. The time to avert it is over. Buckle up and party down.
Hyper financialization and big tech have super charged fascism.

And we have at the most 10 years before climate starts to collapse food/water/transpo.

Waiting another 20 years trying to reform the Dem Party from within is not an option.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
