Deplore evil, be kind,
don't follow me
so I'm sampling my wife's freshly toasted barley groats, crunching through them pleasantly and thinking to myself,

"this flavor is nice, you could even maybe grind them up and make a tea out of it... It kind of reminds me of mugi-cha..."

Perhaps an appeal of a religious faith which believes in divine judgement or karmic retribution is the solace it affords to the helpless & powerless; the expectation that evildoers will be met with just and appropriate consequences after their lives of willful cruelty are over

Here's a really good point being made in this thread
An observation I've been thinking about:

Around 2020, we were told that US political & corporate elites had been gripped by "wokeness" & thus become obsessed with climate change & diversity. This wokeness was alleged to be so severe & monomaniacal that it threatened the entire culture & economy.

So, let's get this straight. Christopher "Moot" Poole created 4chan as a gathering place for hentai and CSAM enthusiasts, started /pol/ the day he met with Jeffrey Epstein, then /pol/ memed Trump to the presidency and birthed Qanon, a conspiracy theory in which Trump is a good person who hates CSAM.

If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.

NorCal mutual aid groups- DM me if you want supplies to build @distributeaid.org's HRT Harm Reduction Toolkits.

We got production going in LA after their hospitals did this, and would love to help you too.

The kits contain everything but the meds. See details and donate to support here:

Dear lord, the latest fresh hell at work was having to explain the existence of a feature that apparently surprised management enough that they thought it was a bug.

To clarify, this was a feature, a behavior, a logic that we deliberately built years ago, which no one but me even remembers now.

A short thread
A chair maker finishes a chair. The chair holds you. It will hold your children. If it breaks, the break is visible. You can see a cracked spindle or a loose joint, and the chair can be repaired because all the information needed to repair it is present in the object itself.

Brief operational term of art 🧵 to help better define what we're experiencing. What we're experiencing is state terror. I've seen a lot of terms thrown around for what the Trump admin is doing w/ICE, CBP, & other federal law enforcement (LE). The now largely out of use term is state terror. 1/

Had an intriguing editorial discussion recently: how did people in the past talk about 'minutes' when they didn't have watches or standardised times? How does that affect your thinking?

Come down an Elizabethan/Jacobean rabbit hole with me.

When my dad was a teenager,

'bout the same age as my granddaughter is now,

that nation which wants to be great again

was still executing black boys for dating white girls
Claudette Colvin was a political young woman. She'd studied segregation in school & been politicized by the arrest of classmate, 16-year-old Jeremiah Reeves, who was convicted & ultimately executed for a consensual relationship with a young white woman. Colvin joined Rosa Parks' NAACP Youth Council.
