I’ve given up looking at people who follow me because it’s almost always middle aged American dudes who think this is a dating app or gym bros grifting (I mean the lovelorn are probably grifting too tbh).
If you want me to follow back, 👋 on the post or comment that made you want to follow me 😁
The moment of absolute disorientation you have when someone with a family members name follows you and you have to check they haven’t changed careers and started a podcast while you weren’t looking 🤣🤣🤣

One physio appointment and two phone calls (one awesome, one not so) this time.

My uncle, a guy who monologues to Olympic standards, found me a bit quiet in a conversation this morning.

Anyway, please don’t expect wit for a while.
“But do I really have PEM?” she asks while she crawls into bed, suddenly exhausted on the second day of resting after a heavy* weekend.

Evri is such a shit company.
Just had a delivery guy lie to my face that he didn’t try to deliver a parcel - presumably because he’d already sent the email on his walk to the next house after giving me exactly 4 seconds to get to the door.
You know it’s shitty punitive timing policies driving it. 🤬

it's so important to have one cat who never leaves your side for one moment and another cat who just yells at you for food

Everything I’m seeing about Game Of Wool suggests that the makers know nothing and care even less about knitting and 🧶 craft in general.
Also that they fail to both learn lessons from other similar shows and adjust their format to meet their casts personalities.

Bleh. Not going to bother.

It was a very pretty twilight this evening so I went out to look. I ended up having a conversation with a spider who had built her web across the path - congratulating her on her efforts & warning of the danger, husbands eyesight not stretching to spiderwebs.

I’m not the only one like this, surely?

There are fireworks going off in one of the gardens nearby, but something tells me my efforts to de-terrorize loud noises with the cats have paid off.

Now if we could just make her less afraid of the postie.

This old curmudgeon has been listening long enough to be confident that every musical generation produces great music, mediocrity, and trash in every genre.

We all just have problems agreeing on which is which, since taste is so relentlessly subjective.

In important news though. I have listened to the whole of Everybody Scream.

Oh my god.

I watched a reviewer of Good Boy ask why it wasn’t a cat and I can answer that.

I just told my cat that if she saw anything spooky to scream and run and to not even think about coming to help me. The look on her face was interpreted by my husband as “of course not - that’s a You problem.”

That’s actually reassuring as I’ve never managed to work out where I fit.

Every time I see a social media meme about being an introvert, which is at least once a week, I think about how the modern conception of introversion was popularized by a book by a woman who worked on Wall Street who felt that she was so different and special compared to her coked up male colleagues

I used to block trolls and misogynists.
Bluesky is apparently so refreshingly free of these menaces that my block/mute response has transferred to AI posters, people who ask “does anyone still use this site?”, joy policers and poets (but that’s my phobia, not the poets fault).

Just saw a comment on insta saying the reason they (some men) don’t like tattoos on women is because you generally have to be 18 to get them.

Same with benefits in the UK. The vast majority of people claiming benefits either cannot work (children, the elderly and the disabled) or ARE ALREADY WORKING and the companies are paying dividends and CEO wages letting the government fund their employees survival.

None of us argue in good faith any more.
We’re either so keen to be arguing that we don’t even realise we share the same basic views and keep bitching around in circles. Or we’re too busy going for the gotcha we twist and misinterpret every word regardless of obvious intent.
Ugh.

If one of the appliances in your home, say your cooker or fridge, ran using ten times the power of a normal one, you‘d replace it as fast as possible and never go near that manufacturer again, because you’d think they were catastrophically bad at making stuff.

But it’d be cool if it talked, right?
