One thing about the movie that amuses me is that in the books, D as a half-vampire half-human is called “dhampir” but for some reason in the movie it’s “dunpeal” - WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT TRANSLATION? The movie came out in 2001. Not sure when the books were translated, but I think it was later.

Watching Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I forgot how much I love this movie, and how good the dialogue is. 😭 it’s such a beautiful love story. And was my introduction to Amano’s art.
