There are a lot of things in the world I can’t control, that break my heart and deeply concern me. For me, many of those things are for talking about IRL.

On here? I celebrate the small things. The daily stuff that makes me smile, including:
- dogs
- the outdoors / gardening
- good coffee
- beauty
Long Covid progress: managed a 20min slightly aerobic workout yesterday. This is huge!

It’s the first time in a LONG time where I’ve been able to get my heart rate up, break even a little sweat, and not find myself dizzy, nauseous, and with a headache.

Finally feeling well enough to read (thank you, flu). Spending time with my Armand, Jean-Guy, and Isabelle is an excellent way to do it. Thank you, @louisepennyauthor.bsky.social for another instalment!

Pretty sure there’s nothing better than getting home from work and having your Labrador snuggle up to fall asleep on you. 🥰

Lewis Capaldi on Graham Norton this week might be my favourite thing. 10/10 would pass the 2 beers and a puppy test.

Jane Goodall passed away on October 1 at 91. She showed us all that every life matters and that what we do makes a difference. Today we honor her by holding more wonder, more compassion, more courage.

@davidcollinsnews.bsky.social I’ve been reading your excellent book the Hunt for Silver Killer and discussing it with a colleague. This week I read this BBC news story of an apparently similar murder-suicide in Oxfordshire. I wondered if you’d come across it? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Elderly couple's cause of deaths at Abingdon home revealed
The bodies of David and Zena Hoskins were found at a property in Milton on 15 September.

Long covid win: it’s been a week and NO palpitations or heart rate spikes. Baby steps, but good news!

Has hit the jackpot on cookbooks. Got a Mediterranean diet one by Elena Paraventes (olivetomato.com) and everything I’ve made is delicious. Food has never been so tasty. 😋

I’ve recently discovered Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference amaretto tiramisu.

My life may never be the same.

The thing is, it’s really not!
Don't worry about being unable to define apocalyptic. It's not the end of the world
If you're itching to read about "Apocalyptic" in the most arcane senses of that term, perhaps to distract you from much else apocalyptic in our times, this is the series for you! humanhistoriesofkn.substack.com/p/away-from-...

When you compliment someone on their very sharp bow tie and they reply by complimenting you on your inter-canonical sermon references. 😊 It’s a good job I’m already married!

To my Instagram feed. I do not want:
- more collagen
- to get fit in my 40s
- to fix perimenopause

Yes, I’m 40. No, it does not mean I want to double down on a quest for perpetual youth. Give me dog videos, gardening tips and tasty Mediterranean food recipes.

Trying to match others' abilities is like trying to wear their shoes. It’s uncomfortable and I’m not going to get very far.

Yes and yes. 👏 👏 👏

The lectionary today (as the BVM day on the calendar) does not help people read their OTs well. It just reinforces a reading of Isaiah 7 that makes no sense of the text itself.

Here endeth my complaint for today.

Can confirm grass trimmers fight back. Have a cut on my forehead and lip to prove it. The lesson? If you’re cutting grass next to gravel, use a face shield (or look away).

Caffe Nero’s matcha is decent.
Pret’s is not. Coconut milk is too sweet. 🤢
