Hi! I write From Seaver to Seattle, a blog/newsletter on baseball and the little things that make it great. It's perfect for fans of rye bread and mustard, finding new ways to lose, and believing in impossible dreams: seatoseabaseball.com

i know it's hardly a burning hot take coming from a Mets fan but excluding e.g. ARod from a HOF ballot under the character and sportsmanship clause while voting for Chase Utley simply boggles the mind

the role of minor league deals is something i am admittedly unfamiliar with thus far, but if we're signing middle infielders at presumably the AAA level... more backup for jett potentially getting called up?

In today's newsletter I led with my take on Venezuela. I've sat with it for more than 48 hours and all I can think is how ashamed I am of my country. We're a malignancy. We have been for a long time, but now we don't even aspire to be anything other than evil. www.cupofcoffeenews.com/cup-of-coffe...

everyone tempted to say ghoulish shit like "Why should we care about baseball prospects when there's poor people in Venezuela?" should read this article before they hit the post button. you are minimizing imperialist violence against CHILDREN who are being exploited by U.S. business interests!

I guess I need to say this since some people have lost their minds: I don’t care about baseball right now.

I am concerned about the safety of Venezuelan baseball players and their families—who are sheltering in place—after our country illegally bombed them to steal their oil.
There are a lot of MLB players and prospects from Venezuela. Been texting with people in several front offices and nobody knows how this is going to impact players and their families’ ability to get out. A total clusterfuck.

Some folks are in my mentions blaming these players for going to Venezuela like they are reckless tourists or something. Stop it.

Venezuela is where they were born and raised and continue to live in the offseason and where their family and friends also live. We bombed their home.
Ronald Acuña Jr; his brother Luisangel Acuña, Salvador Perez, Maikel Garcia, Gabriel Moreno, and Orlando Arcia are also among dozens of MLB players and prospects currently in Venezuela for winter ball. www.baseball-reference.com/register/lea...

unfathomable that people are replying with "who cares about baseball???". hmm i wonder why full-time baseball writers would discuss news in relation to the PEOPLE they spend their time writing about, who are PEOPLE WITH LIVES BEING DIRECTLY IMPACTED. god forbid someone care about them!

Just woke up even angrier. Impeach, convict, remove. Draft articles now. Either we have a representative government or we don’t. Do not shut up about this until there’s a vote.

Brewers star Jackson Chourio is in Venezuela right now playing winter ball

“We don’t have much info at the moment but are trying to follow up,” Brewers POBO Matt Arnold told the Journal Sentinel. “We know the airports have been shut down but not much beyond that.”

something really important to know about me is that every time a commentator says Bo Bichette's name i hear it as "Boba Chette" like he's a new Star Wars character, and as such refer to him almost exclusively as "Boba" in my head

You should be embarrassed to be a member of congress and issuing anything other than impeachment resolutions. You're in the model UN. They should give you legos and a propeller hat

There are 63 current MLB players from Venezuela, and over 400 throughout MLB’s history. MLB success relies on migrant labor from Venezuela. When will MLB make a statement about this horrific US Military attack on Venezuela, & about the thousands of Venezuelan refugees kidnapped & deported in 2025?
