soneone asked "is there a chance it was just an animal?" to which the driver said "oh aye. im always clobbering animals. clobbering pigeons, clobbering deer, clobbering foxes, its pheasant season at the moment"

exciting to be living in an era where "full automation is here rendering most forms of work obsolete" and "legitimate citizenship can only be achieved through work, even if you're disabled" are not only concurrent ideas, but actively embraced by government.

i love sending an email. the trick is to conceive of every outgoing email as the definitive conclusion of a task or project and every reply as a rude reopening of old wounds.

great to see the luminaries going boots-in on cosiness.
my take: cosy games are often unintentional exercises in utopian fiction, suggesting the ideal life is manifested through incrementally optimising the throughput of natural resource exploitation.

I write middle-grade whodunnits, so you might want to dismiss my opinion out of hand. But I think cosy games/crime sometimes miss the fact that blankets are only cosy when it's cold outside. A world without conflict / a story without stakes isn't cosy, it's just safe.
We need to talk about the cozyfication of games because it’s a serious disease, possibly as bad as the edgyfication of the 90s and the grittyfication of the 00s.

Who Remembers Attention Spans?
Half of people in the UK think their attention span has shrunk. With "doomscrolling" becoming an increasing concern for policymakers, I ask: but is this even real though?

Who Remembers Attention Spans?
Why can't we focus on anything these days? Sean Morley takes a brief interlude from checking the latest death tolls to investigate our belief in the shrinking attention span.

Thankful to all the losers and weaklings who I beat to get to the finals of Giant International Wooden Block Stacking Championship. I'll be looking to all my sycophants and underlings to be cheering me on tonight.
Myself and a bunch of friends are putting on this event next weekend. It is for a good cause and it will for sure be an occasion!
