alright let’s get something more pleasant going. what two books would you leave out on your coffee table so a reporter can mention you have them. doesn’t matter if you’ve read them. for me it’s Pale Fire (which I did read) and Ulysses (got like 15% of the way in)

Like many a parent, I've seen the Pixar "Cars" movies too many times. But DANG the graphic design in Cars 3 is some of the best work I've ever seen. Look at these incidental elements by Josh Holtsclaw that have no business going this hard

Most of the things people want to do with computers (use cases, not current implementations of them) can be done with tiny amounts of RAM on rudimentary 16- or even 8- bit systems. Using e.g. a modern browser writing to a cloud app *as a spreadsheet tool* is completely insane.
