@filmsradiance.bsky.social Hi - I’ve sent a couple of emails to you about licensing Häxan for theatrical screenings but haven’t received a reply yet. Is info@radiancefilms.co.uk still the best email to get you on?

Day 1 at Casa Verde. Sophie is installing mosqueteras to keep the bugs out which the geckoes don’t catch. I’m sawing my way through the redundant roof beams in the lounge.

Just paused for a cold beer and this is the view from the terrace. It’s a very manageable 34C (the weather not the beer..) 😁

We had 1600 people turn up at yesterday's Knights' Tournament at Kenilworth Castle - that's twice as many as the total number of right-wing nutters *nationwide* who turned out yesterday to protest outside hotels allegedly containing asylum seekers. Just sayin'..

7% of the population are privately educated. 93% of the population are state-educated. On that basis, surely the fairest and most representative way to regulate civil service internships is for the annual intake to be based proportionally on this?

Civil service interns must all be working class, government says
Internships will only go to students from poorer families in a push to make Whitehall more working class.

The statue inspired the heroic statue of St Christopher in The Children of Green Knowe, which saved the day in the end by electrocuting a demonic tree called Green Noah. They don’t make kids TV like that nowadays, eh? Not since the woke BBC banned its staff from dropping acid during work hours..
All set up for tonight’s show at Norton Priory Museum & Gardens! Hopefully all should go swimmingly as Chris’s patron saint is in the audience, keeping an eye on things..

Went up to the bar for third time due to delayed flight.

BARMAN: Delayed?
ME: ‘Fraid so.
B: Who are you flying with?
M: Ryanair
B: Bandits.
M: Well.. yes. But they’re very affordable bandits.
B: (handing me drinks) That sounds like going to the loan shark cos he has a special offer this week…

Take 8 minutes and watch. It's the best summation I've seen of where the events of the last week leave us. The world of 2016 has vanished, we can no longer amuse ourselves with abstractions about "sovereignty" and "Global Britain". We need to strengthen ties with Europe. It's the only game in town..
🚨🚨 Brave contender for speech of the year. Every word of it rings true to me.

Claude Malhuret is a proper role model for European politicians in these chaotic and existential times for Europe.

Take 8 minutes of your time and listen carefully. It is worth it.

It's a great speech, and absolutely spot on. Should be viewed far and wide

The fundamental problem with this situation (and it’s not going to go away) is that navigating a way through it is entirely about sparing the feelings of someone who’s a) an utterly incompetent egomaniac and b) a simpleton.

I voted for them in 2024, but Labour have lost me for the next election. Refusing youth mobility; chasing a Reform vote that's never going to vote for them no matter how performatively nasty they are and now siding with the US over AI regulation. I can't support or justify this. They're a disgrace.

The problem with this analysis is that Trump, while being supremely self-confident is also demonstrably full of shit - and anyone vaguely sensible knows this. Boris Johnson tried this approach and that's largely why we're in the mess we're in now.
