According to The Wilderness Society (bit.ly/3Ts4nVB), hundreds of millions of acres of public lands could be up for sale in the Senate version of the reconciliation bill, and that includes large swaths of the Tongass. Louder for the US Senate: THE TONGASS IS NOT FOR SALE. Stay tuned for next steps.

Hey, what a coincidence! The State is planning to extend the Juneau road to Cascade Point which also happens to be where mining company Grand Portage Resources plans to build an ore shipping terminal to serve their proposed gold mine by the Herbert Glacier. How convenient!
