Trying to do the right thing.
With the impending removal of speed cameras, Doug Ford is moving Ontario laws in line with American ways of thinking when we should be moving towards European ways of thinking.

He talks a big game against Trump, but at the end of the day, he's not that different.

Urbanists!

I am reading conflicting things within urbanism communities. Some argue that increasing property value is a benefit when arguing for certain infrastructure projects.

On the flip side, I also read that rising property values is what drives out certain demographics.

Is there a balance?

After claiming for months tariffs are paid by the country of origin, it looks as though Trump has quietly acknowledged that it is indeed the American importing companies who pay, and now the government has to provide financial aid to said companies.

So much for money flowing into US coffers.

The first death to occur in an area where a speed camera once stood will be on Doug Ford's hands.

Ontario deserves better.

Donald Trump demands that other countries invest in factories in the US. Once they do, ICE will arrest all of them. Sounds like a great, safe investment.

Montreal’s multitudinous successes in pedestrianization are more than enough evidence to Ottawa to embark on its examples of what can happen when we transform our streets into places for people. 1/
NEW: 1km of Montreal’s Ste-Catherine Street will become permanently “pedestrian only” (less than perfect term since it will be a people-place for a LOT more than walking). 225+ new trees, vegetation-covered pits for rain drainage, more seating, illuminated canopy, financial help for businesses, etc.
Stretch of Ste-Catherine Street East to become pedestrian-only year-round | CBC News
The City of Montreal announced Friday their "ambitious" plans to transform a portion of Ste-Catherine Street East into a pedestrian road year-round, with redevelopment work starting in fall 2026.

The likelihood of the EU, Japan, and other countries that have agreed to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in the US is slim to none. Does Trump really believe they will, or he just wanted a headline?

If he truly believes it, the other leaders are laughing now.

I just wrapped the weekend at a '55+ Lifetsyle' trade show. I was representing tourism to Prince Edward County, and every single person I spoke with said they were doing everything in their power to boycott travel to USA.

It was really something to listen to each person speak with such conviction.

What's that? Importing goods tariff-free helps to lower the cost of goods for consumers? What a novel idea.

Imagine how berserk Conservatives would be if any Liberal leader announced on public TV to start buying shares in the company of a pal of the prime minister. Yet, many Conservatives probably see nothing wrong with Howard Lutnick's desperate media outing.

This is perhaps the scariest article I've read this year. I mean, we can all see it coming, but this article is fucking sobering.

At the current rate, the US won't hold its status as a democracy in 6 months.

#Trump and #Musk are driving their country into the ground.

#DougFord, need we remind you that Ontarians voted you in again because they want you to deal with #Trump. The strong mandate was not because of your desire to rip out bike lanes. Don't do it.
To #DougFord:

This was an election about who was best to handle #Trump, and you were selected as the best candidate. This does NOT mean Ontarians want you to build a tunnel, remove lands from the greenbelt, stifle cycling infrastructure, or double down on the debt spiral of urban sprawl.
