Being kind boosts mental health more than seeking joy.

Evidence: Doing 3 random acts of kindness a week is enough to reduce depression, anxiety & loneliness. It's more beneficial than doing nice things for yourself.

Self-care feels good, but generosity builds lasting bonds.

Crime rates in all three cities have gone down, and in Baltimore at astounding levels, in part by treating crime as a public health crisis, rather than a "need more cops" crisis. popular.info/p/the-secret...

i distinctly remember a decade+ ago when all the creative jobs started going out the window being told to “learn to code”
"Among college graduates ages 22 to 27, computer science and computer engineering majors are facing some of the highest unemployment rates, 6.1% and 7.5% respectively ...

That is more than double the unemployment rate among recent biology and art history graduates, which is just 3%"

I'm not gonna pretend to be an NYC political consultant but if you're the kind of Dem that hates the DSA I have some advice for next time: don't get behind a piece of shit like Cuomo.

Tidal fixed it!
No music streaming service has 1. Every album I want to listen to, 2. Great audio, and 3. Gapless playback.

Currently using Tidal, but the gaps make some albums almost unlistenable. Qobuz has a small selection. Spotify’s audio quality isn’t good.

What should I do? And don’t say vinyl.

But if the price of goods is rising to facilitate the reinvigoration of American production and a transition to an economy that prioritizes domestic goods and markets, that’s a tradeoff we should consider.

RIP David Lynch. You inspired so many of us. ❤️

David Lynch was an American original. His art opened showed me infinite worlds beneath the one I knew when I discovered his work as a teenager.

I’ve been loving the dub techno revival (Loidis, Purelink, etc.). Takes me back to my early 20s, the days when RA.co reviewed more serious, higher brow house and techno. Good article: www.hearingthings.co/dub-techno-c...

I started making French press coffee. I use medium-grind, pre-ground coffee and steep it for just a few seconds. Turns out great.

I’m glad I never tried to make it “the right way.”
