I’m sorry, but there is absolutely no excuse for travelling to a remote Scottish island to bash baby gannets to death and call it “tradition” or a “local delicacy”.

Especially when there’s a Tesco superstore on the very island where these birds are eaten.

END THE GUGA HUNT.

Gulls are in serious trouble in Scotland.

These remarkable birds are facing significant pressures. A recent report revealed licensed control could have contributed to declines ➡️ rspb.org.uk/scotland/news/licensed-gull-control-in-scotland

We must balance the needs of protected species and people.

It has been twisted too far into an unsafe, malign and destructive tool to morally use, & thereby endorse, anymore

Late last night, MSPs voted in favour of using the Natural Environment Bill to close an unintended loophole in legislation to licence grouse moor shooting.

This is a major step forward in protecting Scotland’s wildlife.

The Natural Environment Bill could be a turning point for Scotland’s nature. But Part 2 of the Bill threatens our most important wildlife protections. A Bill meant to help nature should not put it at risk!
