Favorite album of the year so far is A Touch of Grace by May Leitz. It's weird and complex but really fun and poppy at the same time. Reminds me of Chris Farren's Doom Singer, but with more genres represented. Highly recommend

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism.

But what the autistic people in your life hear when you spread that widely debunked misinformation is that you would prefer to have a child die a painful death from eradicated communicable disease than to be like them.

That's nasty work.

Hope this helps!

I have work to do but I'm distracted by watching US scientific progress & leadership being irreversibly undermined because a few unelected malcontents are penalizing researchers for following legal requirements set out by congressional orders to augment basic research with benefits to society.

Universities and academic medical centers are reeling from a directive by the Trump administration to slash funding for medical research, which doctors and scientists say will have a devastating effect on studies aimed at finding treatments for diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Grants from the National Institutes of Health come with additional money for overhead. A planned $4 billion cut would leave colleges with large budget gaps.

I feel like the recent big console updates for Stardew Valley refresh the game a bunch, even past everyone's cute lil winter outfits. My partner pointed out that a lot of the changes and additions seem to slow the game down and make you take your time and savor stuff more, I totally agree with her!

THIS AMERICAN DOES NOT WANT YOU TO WORK TOGETHER WITH A FUCKING FASCIST TO FIND COMMON GROUND ON WHICH PARTS OF DEMOCRACY WE NO LONGER NEED
"It is very clear that, if there is a middle of all of this hot mess of division, Americans want us to work together when we can and find common ground," Sen. Amy Klobuchar tells the Opinion writer Michelle Cottle.

It *is* Covid, which is also a social class issue. Private and charter schools are investing in clean air. Public and under-funded schools can't, and their clean air money was spent on yachts, sports cars, and police. When you deny Covid as an ongoing public health crisis, you're not helping.

Not a great time to be a grant funded life scientist. Genuinely coming to terms with the idea that I may need to abandon my career and figure out something else to do with my life.
