On this day in 2020, Hockey Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk died.
The first NHL player to reach 1,000 games before the age of 31, he won the Calder Trophy, was a five-time All-Star and had 1,409 points in 1,188 games. He also won two Canada Cups.
