I read quite a lot. I should share my list of recent books that have been really informative or entertaining.
City/rural divides make me think: Humans. All those years of evolution and philosophy and we still can’t get over our in-group/out-group tribalist shit.
1. In the wake on Mamdani’s win, we’ll see a lot more far right anti-urban sentiment. Here’s a thread on its roots and evolution.

This. Also, just talk to people. Ask questions. Especially strangers. I read something a while back about that being good for you and them, health-wise/mental health-wise. Just exchanging a few words. The simple act of positively acknowledging another’s presence is what did it.
i say thank you to the bus driver when i get on and yell thank you when i get off every day i ride the bus, and i take two buses to and from work, being nice and friendly costs you nothing and should be your default expectation for yourself because it improves your day and everyone else’s day
Being nice to people is just fun. Asked young server at taco place how her day was going (fine but tired) and she asked me back. I said I managed to finish my to-do list and she unexpectedly gave me a high five! Treating people like people is always rewarding.
