An utter delight! I gobbled up THE INCANDESCENT last week, charming & insightful, playful in the tradition of the school novel, magic both academic & uncanny, and solidly rooted in the experience of the lead character. A magic school book for grownups without feeling pandering. Read it now!

It's Bandcamp Friday!!! This is the magical day when artists get *100 percent* of the profit from anything you purchase on Bandcamp. That's right, it all goes to the artists. It's a wonderful day to buy some music and I just spent (checks notes) a small fortune.

Here are some recommendations!

This is a 🧵of things that feel awesome. Add your own.

The pleasure of taking off constricting shoes & clothing at the end of a day.

When the cat falls asleep in a bagel on your hip and you can feel the moment it goes completely boneless.

When a toddler uses you as trusted steadying furniture.

The first of my picks for #DisabilityPride!

Kicking off with a fun, heartfelt story from @jrdawson.bsky.social & @wiswell.bsky.social, and an absolutely phenomenal narration by John Bell — it almost sounds like a full cast recording!
#PC898: This Mentor Lives by J.R. Dawson & John Wiswell. Read by John Bell. Previously published by Haven Spec. Rated PG.

'Murderbot' is the best new comedy of 2025. You read that right
The Apple TV+ show takes what might be the oldest sci-fi premise there is — what does it mean to be human? — and mines it for comedy gold.
