Fuck Trump
Giuliani had "stop and frisk" in NYC. It was found to be unconstitutional in 2013. I don't see any difference with ICE's tactics except they aren't trained law enforcement officers, and they're using "stop and murder" instead.

I'm still wondering what gave these assholes the right to "subdue" Alex Pretti. He wasn't threatening anyone in the first place.
“ten versus one and somehow they couldn’t find a way to subdue the guy or use a less than lethal [means]…They all carry belts and vests with 9,000 pieces of equipment on them and the best they can do is shoot a guy in the back?”

I can't believe anyone ever took Bari Weiss seriously.
January 27, 2026 at 1:24 PM
CBS already had dogshit ratings. They'll still be dogshit, but now they'll have the attention of the really stupid people, which is all Ellison and Weiss really want. It's not news; it's entertainment for idiots.
Yep. The reorganization is just an opportunity for her to shift CBS even more to the right.
Turns out that Bari Weiss's all hands at CBS today is to announce she's bringing on some anti-vax guys and Niall Ferguson. www.axios.com/2026/01/27/b...

Suddenly the little prick is afraid to leave his house.
BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Trump signs Chicago Harbor Lock funding cuts into law. The Army Corps requested $3.85 million to run the lock, which boats use to travel between Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Trump allocated less than $300,000. www.chicagotribune.com/2026/01/26/c...
Trump signs Chicago Harbor Lock funding cuts into law
The Chicago Harbor Lock is expected to see its federal funding cut by more than 90% this year after an effort by Illinois lawmakers to secure more money for the busy stop lock and dam failed.

Bruce Kirby, Timothy Carey, Val Avery, Vito Scotti

Columbo had the best returning guest stars.
The funeral director scene is the one I was thinking of. Just delightful.
Scotti, as you probably already know, was in several Columbo episodes, and always an enjoyable scene-stealer. I'm guessing the episode you're referencing might be Candidate for Crime, when he played a tailor, or Swan Song, when he played a funeral director — both rather extended appearances.

The drunk who sees Dick Van Dyke kill Don Gordon

The restaurateur who tastes the wine that Donald Pleasence goes ballistic about.

Dude was everywhere. The engineer in Von Ryan's Express.

And you believed him?
The President agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota and to talk to DHS about ensuring the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is able to conduct an independent investigation, as would ordinarily be the case.

Trump sends Tom Homan. The Dems counter by sending Ro Khanna.
🚨 SCOOP: Rep. Ro Khanna is headed to Minneapolis to thank protesters for their courage and to rally support for his new 10-point House agenda to unify Democrats: no new ICE funding, prosecute criminal agents, and dismantle ICE as Trump’s private military force.

Romo is one of the worst I've ever heard at calling a low scoring game.
Listening to Romo and Brady back to back, it was jarring how one was a football broadcast and the other was a sideshow and I never would have guessed which was which after last year.

Garrett's actually getting better at his job. Brady, too.

I know, it's crazy.
As Sam Darnold’s 2024 season was unfolding in Minnesota, Jason Garrett repeatedly said, “You can’t let that guy out of the building.”

It might seem trivial but there's something particularly evil about Trump playing golf while all this shit is happening.
On Friday, we saw the stirring of the national soul, as hundreds of faith leaders and thousands of everyday folks took to the streets to denounce rising fascism

Saturday's murder raised the stakes. It's past politics. This is about good vs. evil

Alex Pretti’s ICE murder is beyond politics. This is about good vs. evil | Will Bunch
Trump's inhumane immigration raids and two ICE murders has triggered an American yearning for a return to morality.

"His grandfather, Dick Hammer, was a Marlboro Man actor and USC athlete."

This is why there's Wikipedia.
I'm struggling to come up with a parallel for Sam Darnold surviving the broader Jets Experience and his total memetic capture on the "seeing ghosts"/Out Indefinitely: Mononucleosis front and going on to win a Super Bowl. It's too mean to say "Tommy Wiseau winning an Oscar" but I went there first.
