All of our problems feel very small today compared to the literal once in a generation catastrophe that is about to befall Jamaica. I can’t stop thinking about those poor people and I’m furious in advance at the lack of aid they are probably going to receive from the US government.

First the administration cut food assistance for Americans in need.
Now they’re refusing to use emergency funds for food assistance—even though their now-deleted shutdown plan said they could.
They have the funding to keep families from going hungry. There’s no excuse.

During circle time today, my daughter's class processed seeing a man get detained by ICE outside of their school.
Last week ICE pulled guns outside of my 7 y.o school. Today, it was outside of my 10 y.o's school.
