People all over the country have been out protesting against ICE today. “Vets Say No” Protests will take place all over the country tomorrow as well. All Anti Trump protests. Americans protesting together not against each other.

Speaker Johnson can’t guarantee there will be a vote on ACA subsidies. Big shocker!!
An obvious ploy meant to tick all of us off because the Dems allowed the government to reopen without assurances of affordable healthcare for the American public. Hateful little twerp that he is!

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.
