Former #nuclear war planner Daniel Ellsberg (of Pentagon Papers fame) mentioned in his memoirs that he went to see Dr. Strangelove with a colleague. Coming out of the theatre, they concluded the film was a documentary.

Independence day and also 3.5 years of full scale invasion. Already 3.5 years. Whole damn eternity. And as previous 3.5 years - zero guarantees of happy ending. And chances are extremely low with all the "ceasefire" bullshit. And Ukraine fighting alone as all the previous years.

Negating formidable defensive lines by “negotiations” is an old dictator tactic. Hitler used it in Czechoslovakia, Stalin tried to use it in Finland, Putin tries to use it in Ukraine.
Hesitate to contradict a former FCO PUS, but the idea of giving Putin all of Donetsk to get lasting peace in Ukraine shows a lack of knowledge of Putin (who thinks UA isn't a state & Ukrainians are just Russians) & of UA's military geography (ripe for further conquest without its Donetsk defences).
It’s surreal that articles like this have to be written but dealing with a sociopathic US president requires extraordinary measures.

Something else to remember. Russia may think they want the U.S. to step away from Ukraine, but this may also be a miscalculation.
For Ukraine, this war is an existential crisis. Russia has shown it can and will slaughter Ukrainians and enslave them. They kidnap Ukrainian children.

And btw, there are a lot of "animal rescue" scams out there. Many of which are pretending they are Ukrainian. If you see animal rescue without a name with donorbox instead of something like UA monobank and who don't interact with Ukrainians - it's in 99.9999% scam.
