Researcher in the field of allergy and immunology. Mast cell-lover. Wrote a textbook of research integrity in Japanese. Ph.D (Pharmaceutical Sciences).
This is the case that Dr. Bik @elisabethbik.bsky.social informed PLOS ONE in 2015. PLOS ONE retracted the paper in 2024. Nagoya City University has recently denied the image manipulation and criticized the decision of the journal. pubpeer.com/publications...

Prof. Blandina, Prof. Pasani, and Dr. Provensi kindly provided me with an opportunity to contribute to the book entitled "Histamine Receptors-Preclinical and Clinical Aspects". Histamine research has led to the development of many excellent therapeutic drugs.

Perfect instructions for scientific image sleuthing. To confirm "the fact" is essential to fight against the fraudulent researchers and the research institutes that protect them.

Academic papers with hidden AI prompts have been found. The authors aimed to obtain favorable reviews from lazy reviewers. My comments are included. #researchintegrity #peerreview
Hidden AI prompts in academic papers spark concern about research integrity

Seeing RFK Jr.’s selections to replace the qualified scientists that he fired from ACIP, I very much doubt that the U.S. will have ready access to COVID19 and flu vaccines for 2025.

And it could be even worse than that.

Bill Cassidy is to blame for voting to confirm RFK Jr. He’s a disgrace.

Anyone can do post-publication peer review.
Anyone can be a steward of the scientific literature.
Anyone can do forensic metascience.
Anyone can sleuth.

That's why we are launching COSIG: the Collection of Open Science Integrity Guides, an open source resource for all of the above.

Physiological roles of mast cells have recently been determined wave after wave. They also proposed the significance of itch.
Scratching promotes allergic inflammation and host defense via neurogenic mast cell activation
Itch is a dominant symptom in dermatitis, and scratching promotes cutaneous inflammation, thereby worsening disease. However, the mechanisms through which scratching exacerbates inflammation and wheth...
