Pretty much decided I'm voting Green next election unless Labour pulls something amazing out of the bag to win me back! Was waiting to see how @zackpolanski.bsky.social panned out, so far am impressed. It's a shame because I think my local MP is a decent bloke but I just can't with Labour anymore.

Funny then that shortly before Trump said networks giving him "bad publicity" should lose their licence, one of our biggest broadcasters aired a 5 hour documentary debunking Trump's lies.

Feeling schadenfreude at a death or pointing out that the deceased was a truly awful person doesn't mean you think they "deserve" to die. I'll speak ill of the dead but oppose the death penalty. The world is better without bad people in it, but I don't think that makes it morally right to kill them.

I don't understand why people are not pushing harder for Israel to allow journalists into Gaza. Israeli representatives keep claiming everything is Hamas propaganda, if they're so sure they're right why won't they let outside observers in?

Are we going to see any condemnation for the continuing use of “death to Arabs” across Israel? Recently chanted by Israelis on Jerusalem Day in Muslim neighbourhoods. The govt is accused of not doing enough to stop it. Do our govt and others condemn that? Or even bothered to look that way?

Many of those standing up for the people of Gaza would have been people who stood up for Jewish refugees in the 1930s because the reason they stand up is humanitarianism, religion and ethnicity play no part, it is the concept that EVERY child’s life has the same value

Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?

When MP's lose their jobs they keep getting paid for 6 months (the Conservatives increased it from 3 months before they lost).
I think in order to help them back into work as soon as possible we need to reduce it to 0 months.
