Can’t sleep because my brain has decided that it’s Random Anxiety Time.
So I’m soothing it by attempting to read MDZS fanfic in Spanish. Because that is a totally normal way to practice my language skills, right🙃

I have described my favorite ship dynamic as “kind of messed up, but it’s working for them.”😄
a ship needs to be a little codependant and toxic to be fun. It's fiction, after all. ships need to be a bit fucked up

I really like this take on the story.
I am not a Christian of course but like all Americans I have spent my life marinating in Christian mythography, and so around this time of year I have a lot of thoughts about the Nativity and the part where the innkeeper says there's no room in the inn.

It is kind of wild that the future trajectory for Luigi Mangione ranges from "federal death penalty" to "51st president of the USA."

As bsky grows in popularity and while tensions are high—PLEASE be kind to each other. Please ask questions if something isn’t clear or doesn’t sound right, etc rather than jumping straight to judgment. Please assume the people who share your values are acting in good faith and doing their best.

Sometimes people are like "aren't you worried about the kids and their nonsensical new brainrot memes"

But like, the thing is, I can still spot a member of my internet generation by how they respond to "badger badger badger badger"

Playing with language and rhythm is fun, it'll be fine!
One of the things we've enjoyed the most about the six-seven phenomenon is the way it comes with a gesture, which we've also seen represented in emoji form as:
🫴 six-seven 🫳
“6-7” belongs in the dictionary, actually

Viola/“Cesario”: “My father had a daughter loved a man as it might be, perhaps, were I a woman, I should your Lordship.”
Duke Orsino: “That’s a weird way to refer to your sister, bro.”
Viola: “It’d be a weirder way to refer to myself.”
Orsino: “What?”
Viola: “What?”

What I’m getting from this is that in hedge too much😅

I’m not sure why “baby” is so high, since it’s been a decade since I had one of those.

Winter is coming! Stock up on nerdy tea.
THIS IS THE BIG ONE! Day 4 of 6!

I hope you're not sick of hearing from us this week, teahearts! We sure appreciate the love you've shown our small business during the big sale weekend. We know you could be spending your dollars anywhere, and we love to see you choosing to shop small! 🍵❤️

Fortunately, <strike>standing on tables, yelling about</strike> recommending books is one of my favorite hobbies😁
FWIW: Mention books you like or you think others might like. You never know what'll happen:

I saw The Sad Bastard Cookbook here so I mentioned it on Masto (in a "in case you need this" sense). It kinda went viral (1K shares). It jumped to a high ranking on Amazon and then they got media attention.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

There is a man in an extremely sharp tailed suit on my train this morning.
He looks so out of place riding the lightrail. Actually looks out of place in the Bay Area in general.
Maybe he’s visiting from someplace where they were suits and republic transit?

There is a woman at my office today wearing a calf length, pale blue denim jacket that is givng both “lab coat” and “bathrobe” vibes, UGG slippers and an enormous messy bun piled on top of her head. She looks like a mad scientist who

Do you think the faked death in the Enterprise Incident was directly inspired by McCoy’s use of the same trick in Amok Time?🤔
And whose idea was it?

Watching old episodes of Game Changer and Sam Reich just gave a contestant the prompt "I didn't ghost you, I died".
Which sounds like a Wangxian modern AU plot to me🤔

Wow! That… sure is a choice, there.
Teen Vogue had become rather famous and beloved for its clear eyed, fearless journalism directed to teenage girls.
Apparently they’ve decided to set all that brand cred on fire.

RIP Teen Vogue, I guess🪦
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

There is a blood drive at work today.
My sense of social responsibility says I should go donate.
My sense of “The last time I had a blood test, I ended up in the ER with a black eye because I fainted, fell out of the phlebotomist’s chair, and face planted into the floor” says I should not do that🤔

With SNAP/EBT cuts looming I highly recommend downloading this app! Basically restaurants and other food businesses will have available bags of random food they don’t wanna waste for ppl to buy for hella cheap! This has saved me sooooo many times when I only have $5 and need some food.

Python was awarded a funding grant, funding grant asked Python foundation to remove all diversity and inclusion initiatives they have.

Python foundation said no and rejected the grant.

If you use Python, send a few dollars to the charity to keep it going. I’m pushing a dono on behalf of ScamGuard.
