@jesscraven101.bsky.social asks us to think about the history of Anne Frank hiding in her apartment and the reality right now of families and children hiding in LA from the federal government

Now is the time to intervene before this goes further down the direction we all know it is heading
Sorry. This is very raw. But what’s happening in LA right now is absolutely horrific.

Things Democratic Senators could do that would be useful:

- Withdraw unanimous consent from all Senate business until constitutional rule was restored

- Refuse to vote for any legislation until constitutional rule was restored

- Boycott as a caucus until constitutional rule was restored

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker is on the Senate floor, saying, "I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able" to protest President Trump and Elon Musk. An all-night session is planned.

I was in a rural area of Minnesota where the tiny mall has a MAGA store. On a corner on main Street was an old man sitting on a bucket holding a sign saying " Trump belongs in prison". No protest is too small

#Musk is costing us dearly—bleeding us for a rocket company he’s too busy to properly run because he’s spending all his time tearing our government structures apart. Unemployment will surge and people
needing public assistance will soar.

It's estimated that each Starship launch/explosion costs $100m.

These launches/explosions are largely paid for by US taxpayers.

Yesterday another $100m blew up.

Perhaps DOGE should look into this waste of government spending.

Grateful for your years of service, Finn – and that the ACA helped you and your daughter get health care.
I was injured in the line of duty working as a sheriffs deputy and needed a spinal surgery. Had to accept a medical retirement at 40 yrs old. Lost my County health insurance for myself and my daughter. But no one would sell me insurance because of the injury. I had no insurance until the ACA.

Dennis, stay strong - I’ll be thinking of you and your family.
As a small business owner since ‘03, I know the marketplace for insurance till the passage of the ACA was miserable. Few options, high cost, poor coverage. The ACA changed all of that. I as current cancer patient, without the ACA, my family would be at risk of losing our home, our biz, and future.

Thanks for sharing your story, Rebecca. Protecting folks with pre-existing conditions – like your son – was important to us. And it’s why we have to continue working hard to protect and build on the foundation of the ACA, too.
Before ACA my son was denied coverage because of “preexisting conditions”. When ACA was established his medical conditions were all covered. I’m thankful every day insurance companies are no longer allowed to deny coverage. Thank you President Obama. (He was a baby when this all happened)

Proud of you, Chris – not an easy feat. Stories like yours are exactly why it meant a lot to pass the ACA.
Because of the ACA, thanks Obama, I was able to afford rehab for my alcoholism. I’m going on year 9. I wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise. I am truly thankful. I’m just 1 of the millions the ACA has helped.

Thanks for sharing your sister’s story – it means a lot to know how much the ACA made a difference in both of your lives.
Thank you @barackobama.bsky.social the ACA saved my sister's life more than once, and thanks to the ACA insurance companies can't deny my coverage.
The ACA is the single most consequential legislation in the last 20 years. #aca

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

This is why Musk and Trump are doing desperate infomercials for Tesla in front of the White House. They are scared because they know what’s at stake: their ability to bully with money!

Feeling helpless? This is working: keep it going!
