As a proud Minnesota farm girl, I watched my father work before dawn past dark, seven days a week ~ I’d like Sonny Perdue to explain exactly when any hard-working farmer would have time to take a second job! He basically said “Let them eat cake”!!!

Trump ag secretary to struggling farmers: Get a job!
Prices are tanking and the trade war drags on. That's the best advice you have, Sonny Perdue?

“If the kidnapping of a head of state and bombing are tolerated or downplayed, the message sent to the world is a devastating one, mainly that the law is optional and force is the true arbiter of international order,” said Mr. Moncada.

UK will not make any assessment on whether the US action in Venezuela is lawful. If the issue is pushed to a vote at the UN Sec Council, UK will abstain

The UK gov is concerned that doing otherwise would risk jeopardizing relations with the US at a critical time.

Q: Are you going to demand that Delcy Rodriguez allow opposition figures to return or free any political prisoners?

Trump: We haven't gotten to that. Right now, [all] we want to do is fix up the oil.

The escape is modelled on Assad's escape in 2024 and would include Khamenei's inner circle.

ICYMI: My story from yesterday looked at the costs -- and scope -- of Operation Midway Blitz, including at least $100,000 for tear gas and related munitions at Broadview; $243,000 for Border Patrol helicopters; $19 million for Guard troops that stayed on bases; and $30 million for detaining people
As the Trump administration steadily hypes the benefits it sees from its monthslong immigration enforcement surge in Illinois, federal officials have been less eager to address the other side of the ledger: the fiscal cost of Operation Midway Blitz.
Cost of Operation Midway Blitz: $59M and counting
A Tribune review of court filings, databases and other public records detailing the scope of the incursion and typical costs shows how much the federal government has spent since September.

This is pretty incredible censorship of journalists by their own journalism outlet. We should probably expect the same at CBS News…
BBC journalists have been banned from describing the kidnapped Venezuelan leader as having been kidnapped.

In competitive authoritarian regimes, the government deters and undermines opposition by using its powers to inflict costs on those who challenge it rather than recognizing their legitimacy as democratic opponents
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.
