Would you like £500 of FREE books?!

I do a thing called "The Big Green Books 500 Club"

Lovely people donate £1 each week & when I get £500, I send a school a load of books.

Beyond excited that the world’s best bookstore, No Alibis is offering a special edition signed copy of #FewAndFarBetween with fancy endpapers, an extra essay and a bespoke print of the Lough Neagh archipelago. Pre-order the hell out of these beauties, when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Writing pals, I'm in #Belfast Mon-Thurs next week for a little writing retreat. Will be working mainly out of Crescent Arts Centre and would love to have a cuppa and chat writing with anyone who's around 😀

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 6:
Real agents don't seek out authors to represent.
Real publishers don't seek out authors to publish.
Neither agents nor publishers should ask authors for money. Publishers pay authors an advance plus royalties: agents take their cut from the deals they make for you.

First the Guides and now the WI - two institutions with a history of welcoming trans folk. Each of them forced to now exclude people they have welcomed. This is bullying, pure and simple. Well-funded, systematic and relentless bullying. It is disgusting. Who is next?
The Women's Institute has been forced into excluding trans women too
"Not doing so would leave us at risk of costly legal challenge and potential regulatory action from the Charity Commission. We have a public duty to ensure our charity is not in breach of the law."
