I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

“In 38 states, health care is now the biggest employer. Some former manufacturing hubs, like Cleveland and Pittsburgh, have transitioned to health care as a core driver of the local economy. And hospitals are often the largest employers in small towns and rural places”

The entirety of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health was wiped out last night in a form letter sent by RFK Jr.

NIOSH is an agency in the CDC that investigates workplace hazards and finds solutions. It protects workers, so it’s gone. Even firefighters.

BEEM is a powerful study on #guaranteedincome & Black young adult health that unjustly received notice of #NIH terminations. This project matters to our participants, #healthequity, & the future of evidence-based policy. We’re not giving up but need your help! tinyurl.com/yc4v8ah8

📢 Update!📢

I'm sharing my recent op-ed in @thehill.com, a platform I chose to reach policymakers, judges, & key decision-makers 🌟

I explain the reasons behind my lawsuit against #RFKJr at #HHS for the reckless &—I believe—illegal terminations of #NIH research contracts

We are saving as much public data as we can. The other thing you can do is speak out. Tell everyone you know about what is happening (here, IRL, everywhere). We need people to know the consequences of these actions.
Ohhh look! People care about our work! Come find out how to help.

For the people who used to ask 'Why do you have to be so political?' I hope that it's now obvious why.

Healthcare is political. Housing is political. Education is political. The air we breathe, the water we drink —it's all shaped by policy and power.

Ignoring that is a political choice.

These contracts, constitutionally grounded, are binding agreements between scientists & government

Their cancellation risks making scientific inquiry vulnerable to political influence, threatening public health policy & the well-being of vulnerable communities

The New Deal and Reconstruction were both born of a nation fallen to chaos and misery because of evil shitheads seeking to enrich themselves through human suffering. This is our chance to take that torch and run with it in a way that *endures*, and that can be our legacy.

Aside from limited materials, corporations manufacture abroad because of child labor and worker rights laws, as well as OSHA and the federal minimum wage. As poorly conceived as it is, the tariff plan would never have been proposed at all if it didn't also include a plan to repeal those protections.

As near as I can tell, RFK Jr’s plan to Make America Healthy Again is to simply stop collecting any information on health.

If there’s no data, the data can’t look bad, I guess?

Liquidating federal health agencies is not about saving money.

Dismissing these workers will dismantle these agencies and cost American lives and our economy.

This is a pre-meditated intentional assault on, and in many cases the murder of, hundreds of millions of innocents.
Look at it that way, and you’ll see who RFKjr really is.
10,000 Health and Human Services employees are being laid off.

These are the people who track diseases, conduct research, make sure our food and medicine is safe, and administer health insurance for nearly half the country.

Tell me how this will "make America healthy again."
Mass layoffs are underway at the nation's public health agencies
Employees across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have begun receiving notices of dismissal in a major overhaul expected to ultimately lay off up to 10,000 people.
