perhaps a hot take but honestly i much prefer the character designs and general art direction of RID15 over Prime and i think if they were metallic and the show was slightly less bright people would like the show significantly more

i really hate the fact that i left twitter because my feed was getting too full of american politics and now my bluesky feed is slowly being filled with more and more american politics like can the algorithm just fuck off and if not show me my hobbies then at least show me uk politics

I think it was very much empty nostalgia. Why are we highlighting 60s sexism when we could tell a story about modern sexism? There is enough of it. The speech by Celia was about how important TOS was for kids in the 60s/70s - but it didn’t make me inspired by what SNW has to say to kids today.
I didn't find the episode "empty nostalgia" when it highlighted 60's sexism and featured Celia Rose Gooding's impassioned plea about how people would watch the show and be inspired to reach for the stars. We know Mae Jemison was so inspired.
Please, can we stop doing prequels? Star Trek should be boldly going - not become a franchise about playing with our favorite scifi action figures & stories that have a destined predetermined outcome. Trek is about how the future is what we make it, not inevitable nor empty nostalgia.
