It does actually make use of Godot's HTTPRequest node and fetch stuff like latest updates and art from my Neocities site directly.
All it's missing is a message telling you it can't do it if you're disconnected from the web.

I wish there was a built in way to just display webview. As far as I know there's a plugin for that, but I wanted to use the available tools for now.
Need to look into json files or something similar on Neocities to grab text easier without hardcoding as well.

But this is real cool still

Learned about the custom user path line in Godot's project settings.
So now I can store stuff to a folder directly inside players' Appdata/Roaming folder, instead of Appdata/Roaming/Godot/app_userdata/GameName/.

Unintended side effect of practicing low level programming:

C++ and SDL putting into perspective how much I take it for granted what is handled automatically by an engine.

Like wow, you mean the list of all transforms WON'T update if I won't tell it to as I set the position vector in the list? Crazy.

Some people really don’t want me to add the toggleable dropshadow marker to my platformer game. So the only logical compromise was to make everything a dropshadow marker. And dropshadows imply the existance of liftshadows, so I added these lifts that Shadow the Hedgehogs ride.

I wanna try writing SDL3 today.
Think I wanna just concentrate on learning that framework for now. And move onto pure OpenGL and C++ graphics rendering and such when I feel more comfortable with low level programming in general.

Trying to spend my early mornings just doing random C++ things.
A lot of frustrating moments of not understanding why stuff just doesn't work.
But it's fine though.

Recently I heard the phrase "imperfect action beats perfect inaction", and I think it's one of the more motivating phrases I know now.

Some day, I will make something like this, even if it's small and simple and limited to 2D.

Nothing's impossible. For years I failed to understand programming and code in general. Now it's one of the more fun things I can think to do.
One kinda off to the side goal I have is to develop an engine for personal use specifically for Crash Bandicoot like game(s).
It's just a little hard to get into with creative choice paralysis and uncertainty about if I should learn OpenGL or Vulkan for it.

Spent most of the night trying to correct Isabella's hair. Same problem as with Tawna's: the long style on the stumpy fish body is diffy to make look good lol.
