Labour have branded Nigel Farage’s migration attacks "unfunded, unworkable and falling apart in real time." And the classic: "Unserious".

They seem very reluctant to say "immoral" or "wrong".

A new #painting. "Cill Chiaráin". Kilkieran if you prefer. One ridiculous perfect day in South Connemara I was painting by the side of a road. Everywhere I looked I saw more paintings I knew I'd paint later. This is later. I love this part of the world. Love it. #ArtYear #SpeirGhorm #MountainMonday

Lesson 1: DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE

“Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, & then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.”

“Gaza is a turning point that lays bare the full range and cruel depths of the contemporary world’s contradictions ... It exposes what is fundamentally wrong today: a persistent inability to recognize every human being as equal and deserving of dignity and life.”
“Gaza has become a symbol both of Western hypocrisy and its victims’ recourse to human rights as a final forum for collective deliverance—the deliverance of the wretched of the earth, whoever and wherever they may be. The consequences cannot be overstated.” @joelleabirached.bsky.social

Today is International Trans Day of Remembrance. This is the toughest time in history to be trans and visible in the world, thanks to certain politicians, billionaires, trash media and Evangelicals. And it’s particularly tough for children and teens. Now, more than ever, we need our allies. Ty ❤️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

I work from home. I have a good job and my energy account is in credit. I wear thermals under my clothes and have a wee ceramic fan heater that I put on every couple of hours. If I'm worried about putting the heating on, then how bad must it be for those on fixed incomes who are already struggling?
