Parkland has spent eight years navigating grief, trauma, advocacy, and the slow work of rebuilding. Tomorrow’s anniversary isn’t just about remembrance. It’s about what America still refuses to learn.

My latest essay:

Although President Trump may be ending the surge of immigration agents in Minneapolis, small towns, like Cornelius, Oregon, and Coon Rapids, Minnesota, are dealing with the arrival of ICE agents. Even a single incident can shatter the tranquillity of neighborhoods unaccustomed to turmoil.

Far from the national spotlight, towns like Cornelius, Ore., and Coon Rapids, Minn., are dealing with President Trump’s expanding mass deportation effort, and the effects can be acute.

The people of Minnesota, and Minneapolis especially, have set the blueprint for our resistance.

They were tough, determined, disciplined, peaceful and kind. They remained united throughout the ICE occupation.

Thank you, Minneapolis, for leading the way.
Please support Haven Watch.🙏💙
There are kind volunteers of the grassroots organization called Haven Watch who support released detainees in MN. They often don’t have a phone, money or clothes for the weather.

Missouri is my home state, though I’ve been in Los Angeles for decades. It’s been treated like a rube state by the GOP and corporations as a given. And become the worst for it.
I was just thinking about which state has elected the worst Republican congressional delegations over the past decade overall and I think I’ve settled on Missouri.

HASSAN: You said you don't want to comment on these ongoing investigations because you don't want to bias them. So did Noem and Stephen Miller bias the investigation when they called Pretti a domestic terrorist?
