Australian. Sick of the two party duopoly. Rusties and shills turn back now. Public health. Housing for all. A green future. Tax the billionaires. Peace.

There were over 17K Australian deaths from Covid between 2020 and 2024 and yet, there's never been a national day of mourning nor memorialisation of its victims. πŸ€”

Why are those lost to COVID not formally memorialised? How politics shapes what we remember
Hundreds of thousands of red hearts adorn a wall directly opposite parliament, yet successive prime ministers have nothing to say about officially marking the lives lost in the pandemic.

Why isn’t there serious reporting on #Grok’s risks?
Not "evil AI" nonsense, but who controls it, how fast it’s being pushed, and how little restraint culture seems to exist.
Power + speed + ego isn’t innovation and it's fucking dangerous!

β€œWho in their right mind would want a walking, talking surveillance machine inside their home?” – the answer is the people who would happily bring back slavery if they could.

But that’s not the point of Sam’s excellent article on the AI automation mirage, which you should definitely read.
get in girlies, we're talking surveillance! we're talking the fantasy of automation propped up by humans! we're talking unfulfilled promises of tech to reduce household labour! we're talking funwashing of robots made for warfare!
Aside from creepy surveillance, what are β€˜consumer-ready’ service robots actually for? | Samantha Floreani
For A$30k you could have a remote employee see inside your home via a walking, talking machine with a chilling blank face. Count me out

We'll say it again: "social cohesion", when uttered by the holders of political and social power and privilege, means simply the maintenance of the dominant culture and silencing of any challenge to it.

Artists & citizens standing up against racism, political interference & censorship works. Pressure works. We owe great thanks to readers, writers & leaders of Writers Week 2026. I hope a turning point in the racist pile on we have witnessed. We await the Premier’s apology.

Good morning.

A regular reminder: a tiny few hoard staggering wealth and own much of the media, while millions struggle to survive.

That’s not an accident. It’s a choice made by those in power.

Tax wealth. Fund public services. Build an economy for everyone - not the 1%.

DELETE your X account.

Poor Elon Musk would hate it if this poster appeared in every town and city. It comes with a QR code that leads people across the world to delete their accounts.

It’s time. Because who the f*ck would want to use social media with a built in child abuse tool?

It's "culturally unsafe" to have a Palestinian Aus author advocate against the systematic slaughter of hundreds of thousands of her people, but it's
"a good thing" for the president of apartheid Israel, which has committed daily massacres and mass starvation for 2yrs, to visit us. Unbearably racist.

This headline is blatant misinformation. One guy quit because of Adler’s β€œanti-Zionist” program and zero people noticed or cared. The Board then acted against Adler and Randa, the whole festival collapsed and 4 board members quit rather than fix the mess they made. This upheaval is solely theirs.

The collective public outrage & boycotting of the festival over the cancellation of Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah speaks volumes. This appalling decision by Adelaide Festival Board, backed by the Premier, must be reversed. Premier Malinauskas has questions to answer.
