Somebody on here tried to tell me it's fine and normal for AGs from nearly half the states in the union to tell Costco that their DEI policies are wrong, without saying what's wrong with them. And it's fine for newsrooms to keep reporting this as a controversy with two sides.

This whole article manages to say nothing about actual DEI policies. What policies? How can you read that whole letter from 19 AGs, write a whole article about it, and never point out that the letter doesn't say what Costco is actually dying that is wrong?

Yesterday, when I said I wasn't sure if my bubble is extremely small or Mamdani was actually poised to win, the whole of my research consisted of idly scrolling BlueSky and Mastodon. With a dash of input from my HS group chat. I feel like Cuomo should be harder to stun on this stuff.

Honestly, it's bad for democracy that you have to have a hack or a paid subscription to read essential reporting like this. I could go through my library for WaPo but I have to look up the path to that and have my library card handy.

I've definitely stopped tracking NYC politics in any meaningful way. From where I sit (specifically my garage I. CA where I'm avoiding a project) it seems like everyone is all in on Lander / Mamdani. I assume that's just my bubble but I'm very curious to know how accurate it turns out to be.
