If Black lives — or all lives — truly matter, then the people of Sudan deserve protection from the horrors of genocide, says author Jennifer R. Farmer. Over the past two years, more than 150,000 people have died during the conflict in the region.

The worst part about being smart is seeing how much stupidity and willful ignorance there is in the world AND having to contend with the fact that you can’t fix ANY of it.

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has struck down the FTC’s “click-to-cancel” rule, days before it was to take effect.

The rule would have required companies like Adobe and Planet Fitness to make it as easy for their customers to cancel subscriptions as it was to sign up.

This book means everything to me. It’s my first body of work—but more than that, it tells the story of so many who are navigating love, loss, and life. I wrote it to be a voice, a mirror, and a guide. You’re not alone. You never were. I see you. I love you.

A Black man just beat the record for the longest filibuster, defeating the record previously held by a man who filibustered the literal Civil Rights Act.

As the time ticked over, Cory Booker announced he did it not out of hatred for who he opposed, but out of love for those who supported him.

Always staying to myself and focusing on my own shit now.

I can't offer any insight, feedback, or opinions.

Unless, asked.

Moving on.

To clarify, by "purge" I meant anything from destroying documents (which I hope is unlikely to happen) to severely restricting access, censoring public-facing websites, removing finding aids, deleting digital content, etc. There's a lot of possibilities aren't burning books in a bonfire.

How long until the Library of Congress faces a purge? Should historians be getting what resources they can now? I'm imagining anything related to the civil rights movement, anti-fascism, and even public health could be gone soon.
