Australian bird of the year is almost here. Australia is host to hundreds of different species. There are so many ways to celebrate and enjoy this abundance of wildlife – become a birder and go looking in your neighbourhood, colour in one of these lovely colouring sheets, or make yourself an origami bird.
All you need is a bit of paper. You can easily turn an A4 sheet into square paper suitable for origami with a couple of folds and some scissors. If you have access to a printer, Bush Heritage Australia also has some wonderful templates of swift parrots and Carnaby’s cockatoos that you can print and follow the guides. Continue reading...

To be fair, this is probably a good outcome for North Melbourne, The Kangaroos sold 2 home games to WA, they beat the Eagles and went down by only a goal to the Freo Dockers. Pretty good for them I reckon.

The Nationals get less support nationally than the Greens, but have an outsized influence over policy. This is who the deputy prime minister would be under a Coalition government. It's not a fringe view – it's the leader of the junior coalition partner saying we don't think some kids deserve rights
The Nationals leader has just said children who commit crimes should have their civil rights "put aside" if anyone was wondering how the campaign was going.
