Well. I guess the new normal is getting a 3 day notice for only being 2 weeks late on rent. I have $2000 in my account, so I only need about $400 to get that paid, but I'm hoping to raise money to also cover rent/bills thru next month. Sorry for doing this again already. ko-fi.com/tylerhendrix...

It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

Independent journalist @laurajedeed.bsky.social wrote about being hired by ICE after a 6-minute interview for SLATE. There's a myth that ICE is highly trained (as if that justifies their consistent violence) but truly, they'll hire anyone as long as they follow orders. slate.com/news-and-pol...
You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.
What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

the regime considers all resistance violent resistance. you chanting while holding a sign and carefully remaining on the sidewalk is as worthy of the death penalty to them as someone throwing a Molotov.
They are telling us in unequivocal terms that if you show solidarity with immigrants who are in the literal crosshairs of Trump/MAGA, you're risking a death sentence.

A message from Bernice King, the daughter of MLK Jr. Let’s not allow people to white wash who he was, because what we learn in school is a sanitized version.

What lessons do you take from MLK/the Civil Rights Era, that can help us today?

MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.
