I followed Jon & he followed me. Loved his work. Scrolling through his feed now, I noted with warmth that he had reposted one of my bird photos just a month ago. He was very open about his illness so we all knew the end was nigh. I hope that bird photo of mine made a difference in his final weeks 💜

A photo of me with my statement Heatwaves and extremely hot days can be a real struggle for many but when you're living in poverty, disabled or have a chronic illness they can be complicated and deadly. Unable to afford efficient cooling or the electricity bills that follow leaves my community at a disadvantage and at risk of heatstroke. We need all rentals including public and community housing to have efficient cooling. It's time to get involved and as a community demand from our government that we have climate safe homes and ensure that we will not be left behind any longer.

Police are investigating reports that a dog was allegedly driving a ute on a Tasmanian beach over the weekend. Witnesses said the ute was seen being driven along White Beach at Nubeena about 9:30am Saturday, with a dog in the driver's seat. "Witnesses reported that a white Mitsubishi Triton was being driven on the beach, with a dog in the driver's seat and a man in the passenger seat," a police spokesperson told Pulse. Officers later located the vehicle, man and dog at a nearby property, with police confirming multiple reports were made about the incident. Police are calling for witnesses or footage, including dashcam vision, as investigations continue.

I am a climate scientist and this is correct.

As the planet warms, storms like the one today are getting stronger… and as the Arctic is warming twice as fast as the mid latitudes, it increases the risk of the “freezer door” swinging open.
