i started recording snippets for a devlog i MIGHT make later and it's made me more productive. i rewrote a lot of code from scratch and i'm back to where i was before in a fraction of the time.

my goal is to make a sonic engine that focuses almost solely on movement, an alternate "boost" mechanic where you don't have to hold a button, and very few if not zero QTEs.

one of my issues with modern titles is all the bloat that comes in the form of buttons, Very Icky™.

working on a level editor BEFORE the gameplay is definitely a Choice but also i figure if i can speed up the level creation then i don't have to fuck around so much with the code just to get a test area done :))))))

there's a fucking BUG in my game after refactoring where jumping off a solid block as opposed to a jumpthrough platform gives like 2 more pixels of jump height i'm going insane.
