Nihilism has always been dead. In the darkest times, look deeply for something beautiful and it will appear, defying description, distilling the world into perfect meaning reborn. #nature #photography #animal #insect
This is an excellent book that the larger culture has still not sufficiently grappled with. These issues affect everyone on the planet, regardless of your relationship with technology.

If you see this and have no courage for public opposition, I don't envy your future reflections, when the world reminds you of the person you should have been, dissolved by time, less a lonely residue of quiet pretending.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Censorship can be enacted in real-time, but it can also be performed by the digital editing or omission of source materials before training. Any opacity of these elements is not trustworthy, and over time will make us blind to our own blindness.
I love the idea of a privacy-oriented LLM, but the use of China's DeepSeek as the underlying engine is an issue

"Secret police" is often misunderstood to mean a force that operates covertly, with all their operations secret.

But a secret police force's actions are often public. The secret part is hiding their identities, because they're breaking laws to hurt politically disfavored people, and fear reprisals.

The violence will not end until we stop the lawless criminals at the very top of this vomitous regime. They don't care how many people they kill or how many families they destroy.
masked, unidentified goons who assault and murder with impunity. a literal gestapo.
This is the ICE agent who murdered a woman by shooting her multiple times in the face.

Impeach this scoundrel now, along with everyone in his cabinet responsible for this war of aggression. Anything less ensures this psychotic behavior will continue.

I've now watched the censored 60 Minutes report on CECOT. If you watched it too—and if you have any decency at all—I'm sure you came to the same conclusion I did: winning elections won't be enough; people like Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem will need to be charged and imprisoned.
