Also, the The Orangeburg Massacre at South Carolina State College in 1968: cops killed 3 students who were protesting against segregation & wounded 28. All the victims were black.
I learned about Kent State in high school, but not about either of these tragedies, which I learned of from friends.

Don't forget the shootings at Jackson State, 11 days later. 40 highway patrolmen fired more than 460 shots; 2 students (a married law student and a high school student who was walking home from work) were killed, and 12 injured. It's rarely mentioned in the press, perhaps b/c the victims were black.

Kent State is the reason I became a professor. It was unbelievable that the National Guard could murder students on any campus. We've learned nothing since May 4, 1970.

Call it what it is. Door to door concentration camp round ups. You know when the full record comes to light there *will* be horrifying degrees of intentional genocide of non-whites in ICE facilities due if nothing else to over crowding. It is happening.

No. We don’t need to “modify ICE training.” We need to close DHS. Dismantle it. It’s an outdated expensive bureaucracy that’s been usurped by violent white supremacists. Shut it down.

I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I genuinely don't understood how America took the emoluments clause -- the common-sense bar on a president using his powers to line his own pockets, a law children can understand -- and just said, nah, that doesn't apply for our Very Special Boy.
