Yes, however the BBC have "forgotten" to mention the largest source in an article about PM2.5 pollution - domestic solid fuel burning! This could be seen as politically motivated as there is a government consulation on this issue open for submissions & the BBC are failing in their duty to"educate."
This is another reason measures to reduce traffic are so urgently needed.

Everything helps - pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, 20mph limits, clean air zones, congestion zones, investment in new public transport options, parking control, liveable neighbourhoods and car clubs.

Let’s do it all.
To all those who say “but air pollution is within legal limits”

Its a very sad situation when some people only care when it impacts the health of their own children, not others. Our neighbours were free to cause PM2.5 pollution nearly 100x normal levels in our children's bedrooms because the stove industry in the UK is self regulating and completely lawless.

We welcome the idea of #Health warnings on stoves.

Did you know that:
👉 A 2025 study by UCL discovered that indoor wood burning is linked to a decline in lung function.
👉 Wood smoke contains hundreds of air pollutants that can cause cancer: formaldehyde & benzene are just two.

Its important to address the "free" wood as fuel argument in the consultation @mumsforlungs.bsky.social Very few people are in "fuel poverty." Clean air poverty exists too- air pollution costs neighbours (air purifiers, etc) and the NHS. No fuel is "free" - its transferring problems to others.
So much for all the "fuel poverty" excuses! They are so poor they''ll "freeze to death" if they can't pollute their neighbourhood but have a spare $4.5K to install a deadly “Ecodesign” stove! Wood is never "free"- its theft of clean air from others and costs are passed on to neighbours, the NHS, etc

Why should you care about #Diesel?

There are millions of diesel cars on our roads emitting suspiciously high levels of #AirPollution. The excess emissions produced over the last 15 years have caused an estimated 30,000 cases of asthma in children and 800,000 days of sick leave in the UK. More 👇 .

These people/companies profit from harming the health of neighbours & should therefore not be involved in regulation/standards/testing. HETAS, Poujoulat, Kiwa Ltd, Amanda Lea-Langton (board of ClearSkies), anyone representing a stove manufacturer (eg Hugh Wells) should not be cited as “experts.” 2/3

We need to ensure Defra cronyism is highlighted in the consultation responses. Why should the stove/forestry industries have special access to government and guarantees? Regulations, testing etc should be overseen by medical/public health experts not those with links to the stove industry. 1/3
It would appear certain organisations (eg Countryside Alliance) have already been guaranteed that their members won't be affected by the outcome of the consultation, before consultation has even closed. How many others?

Will the Govt also guarantee that neighbours of woodburners will be protected?
