Recent leaks to the media suggest that the government will strip back vital elements of a new Islamophobia definition.

To do so would fail to recognise that the discrimination and violence directed at Muslims is a form of racism.

UPDATE 🚨

The govt have launched their long-awaited consultation on police use of facial recognition.

But they want to expand it to every town centre.

Why are they making this decision before the public has even had the chance to tell them what they think?

When a child is rushed to a paediatric intensive care unit (PICU), families would assume that their loved one will get the same shot at survival as every other patient in the unit.

1 in 3 UK children live in poverty. Sadly, the figures are much higher for many children of colour.

The scrapping of the two child benefit cap is welcome, and long overdue.

Children should never be punished for political failures. Civil society shouldn't have had to campaign so hard for this win.

As Dr Shereen Daniels' independent review states, this is not simply a matter of ‘bad apples’.

New @yougov.co.uk polling confirms what we and others have been saying for years.

It's time politicians and media stopped behaving as though immigration is the only issue that people care about - an agenda that fuels fear, hate and racism - and focus instead on what people actually want and need.

We’re trapped in a narrow conversation about trust and policing.

Instead of continuing to invest in policing reforms and solutions that do not work, let’s instead consider community initiatives that we know work to reduce crime - pastoral care, youth workers, mental health support.
