We’re trapped in a narrow conversation about trust and policing.

Instead of continuing to invest in policing reforms and solutions that do not work, let’s instead consider community initiatives that we know work to reduce crime - pastoral care, youth workers, mental health support.

We’re horrified to hear that another woman has been r*ped in another racially motivated attack. Women's safety and women's bodies cannot be a political football, this rise in misogynistic violence must be treated with seriousness and urgency.

Any definition of Islamophobia needs to recognise it as racism, and its structural nature.

Defining a form of racism is not an act of censorship; clear definitions protect both people and free speech.

A year on from the racist riots, our politicians are still fuelling hate. Violence doesn’t erupt from nowhere.

Migrants, Muslims and people of colour didn’t break the UK, our politicians did. It’s time to stop sowing division, and focus on the issues that really matter.
