#GISChat #EM I created an Emergency Management Starter Pack. Please let me know who else I should add to this list. go.bsky.app/BSKkUJ3
#GISChat I googled different certs, I came across the following 4:

1.) GISP
2.) ASPRS Certification
3.) GeoInt - Geospatial Intelligence Certification
4.) Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

I know a lot of people have their GISP, but who has these other certifications?

So update on where I am regarding the CDMP certification.

Yesterday I completed the first read through of the DMBOK. All 17 chapters. My plan now is to write out the various things I highlighted and learned in each chapter.

With my goal to be that I will take the practice test on November 28th.

#MonthlyMap Due to my own interests, I am not actively participating in #30DayMapChallenge I am however, looking at creating a map of food bank locations throughout various counties within Colorado.

In the hopes that I learn how many food pantries do we have? How accessible are they?

I've got a lovely bunch of smut books diddly dee, there they are all standing in a row. Big ones, small ones, ones as big as your head. #Smut #Books

So roughly three years ago I got hit by a car that broke my femur in 2 places and smashed my entire left orbital eye socket. I have undergone 7 surgeries to get my body in working condition.

The next part of that is to try and fix my vision. I was left with mono vision and not binocular vision.

#GISChat For this of you using AI actively in your geospatial work. How are you using it? What are the ethics around your use for it? Are there things you absolutely won't use it for? Are there any guidelines or documents around when it is vs when not to?

#FoodSecurity a few more things:

- Some food pantries were only for specific groups of people such as Veterans or people who were HIV Positive.
November 1, 2025 at 10:31 PM
#FoodSecurity So I just spent the last three ish hours working on putting various data points related to food pantries in a spreadsheet so I could map it.

Side note: I only did my zip code (80014, which only brought up 33 Food Pantries near me)

Let's talk about what I learned.

#30DayMapChallenge I am working on my first map which is to collect data points of various food banks throughout Colorado. I'll start by looking through Open Street Map first but if I can't find any solida data sources I may create my own spreadsheet. #SNAP #FoodForAll

#Data #GISChat is there an award or a list of agencies (private or public) that have real high quality data? I am looking for a standard to get an understanding of what that looks like. I tend to think the City of Denver and NYC Open Data have some of the best publicly available data.

Kinda not sure what we're supposed to do about chatGPT being as normalized as it is. I feel like everyone that's either very young or very old is into it, millennials largely being the only normal ones lol

#BikeSky I biked (rough estimate) 33 miles today (my app didn't capture my initial ride out on the same path) my ass hurts and other bike folks have told me I need a new saddle but it was a great fall day for a ride.

Hey Y'all, with SNAP benefits being cut due to the government shutdown and people struggling to get food and resources. I wanted to share a resource that helps people find food and other services. Findhelp.org

I found a local faith group that does work around giving food in my local community.
findhelp.org by findhelp - Search and Connect to Social Care
Search and connect to support. Find financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced-cost help in your area, anywhere in the US.

#GISChat Its good to create a map that uses labels to remember why you hate the labeling process... at least I do :P
At least I am making this map in Qgis I absolutely hate the labeling engine in ArcGIS Pro.
October 21, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Making a map without writing down the process for how you created that map is akin to solving a math problem without explaining the steps that got you the answer.

I love showing people the more hidden functions in #qgis, such as the Temporal Controller. Have to admit that the workflow for that one takes some getting used to ...
Even if you come across the panel by chance, it's hard for people to figure out how to use it on their own.

#GISChat I am in straight up denial about the transition that is happening in my career. It's strange to be the person who is giving guidance & instructions to my coworkers. Cause like. what do I do anymore? I don't make products, I just sit in meetings all day and make decisions. who does that?
