I find the lack of empathy among #dataviz practitioners a bit disturbing. Many of you know of my suffering this time of year, when the Portuguese Homeland Security Report is published, full of pages like this. And yet no one ever offered me temporary asylum to minimize the impact. It's unforgivable.

I really liked this idea of using a histogram as a legend in a choropleth map (since land isn't unemployed; people are), so I made a little guide to doing it with #rstats, {ggplot2}, and {patchwork}
